What Is The Chambelan De Honor Supposed To Do

Tai Mei: with or without head plate?

first mei tai with head plate, belly to belly sleeping Ale (8 months)
E 'for some time that I wonder about the necessity of the head plate in the mei tai I do ... Continue to sew it, or delete it?

Anyone who knows me knows that I have always been the party of it at any cost, on the other hand I have reiterated on several occasions (see also Bubamara mei tai head plate ) , but the more I use my mei tai, most suspect that the head plate and the accessory is not so indispensable that I believed to be!

I think the head plate to find its raison d'etre specific port on the back and when the child is asleep , so that her head to trinkets here and there without support.
I recently had the opportunity to see, now that Dad is taking a lot more often in the small mei tai, which when it falls asleep spontaneously tends to support the head to the back daddy, also, the neck is minimally supported by existing by itself 'height backrest (60 cm) .
Another consideration: When you fall asleep and wake up the panel to support the head plate rather, almost always wakes up, it being rightly annoyed by the thing! So I end up give up and leave her with no head plate ... At least sleep peacefully!

Then there is the use factor-that-makes-the-mei-tai : we, for example, we use often, but for short "courses" (especially now at home, or go to the park with my dog, unfortunately the long summer trips are a thing of the past!) such that Ale or did not have time to sleep or otherwise makes only short naps, without falling into a deep sleep . In these circumstances it goes without saying that the head plate becomes almost useless.

But if the child remains there for a long time in mei tai? For example, just in hiking, long walks in between mountain trails or the streets of a typical village? To experience I believe that in these circumstances, the head plate is useful, because the baby can not lean on for too long in the back of the adult, because of the motion argued of his feet ...

The provisional conclusion I draw is that the presence or absence of the accessory head plate both correlate with the type of babywearing you practice! So I guess I will continue to do it with the options in question, but at the same time begin to sew without a number, then to each according to his needs!

What do you think?
