Ale dorme in fascia, 1 mese |
Scartate le fantasie "hippieggianti", troppo fricchettone persino per due come noi -avete fatto caso that most of the bands infant carrier on the market are big and bright stripes, such as awnings? - remains to be to agree on COLOUR: anything pink, anything sad tones, but not too bright ... For the record, in the end fall back on a "washing" which turned out to be a blue, very nice though!)
Seriously, the first question was: band (long) flexible or rigid ?
not even consider other types of racks baby, and the end ring and the mei tai, this simply because at the time (two years ago) there was the same amount information about the "bear"! Little material on the forums, mostly in English than in other languages, little choice: the babywearing was much more "niche" than it is today!
But back to the long range, and the dilemma of whether to take "strechy" or less: the difference between the two at that time there was quick before my eyes was the price , more affordable for the elastic, much less for the stiff, especially if you look at the current "brand prestige" (do not name names, but you have probably already realized that I am referring to German homes!;).
The elastic band is presented as a kind of shirt once worn, it gave me the impression of a sort of second skin, where the child could be safe, beautiful pampered. The rigid, of which the most attractive seems to us the possibility to bring the baby also in other locations such as back, seduced us too ... Then both were worth the same benefits for the baby (the infant carrier range prevents and relieves infant colic , promotes breastfeeding on demand , develops good posture -in particular, prevents dysplasia 'hip-, stimulates the development of the system vestibular , strengthens the mother-baby communication behind the development of small self etc. etc. ...), and also the maximum load capacity was the same, about 15 kg ...
In short, we could not get out!
At the end we agreed on two points:
1) elastic band is cheaper : we start by taking this, let's see how we are, and we see that if we use it, which is convenient, practical, safe etc.. or take a strict (read: in the worst case we have thrown away less money, not never hurts!)
2) rigid band seems "just" a piece of fabric like cotton in the future we can always try to do it ourselves, why not? Same thing we did not feel to say to the elastic band, which on the nature of the tissue could not understand ... It will knit? But if he cedes too much, you loose ... etc? Better not to risk and rely on professionals!
We ordered our first band so baby carrier, directly from the U.S. ... And there will be stayed, or who knows where, since we never made it to Naples! Already spent about $ 50, we equipped to find something cheaper, same in Italy ... Maybe this time the postman would have found it! We went on a famous auction site on line and bought our band from one of the few Italian producers. Fortunately, with the auction save some money!
Since then started our journey as parents and kangaroo ... How far ahead yet!
Coming back, we would do the same choice, to buy another when the piston ring and gets a stiff, or opt for a mei tai, rather than a band-ring?
Good question ... Probably yes, we would make the same choice: the heat , the comfort and security that give the embrace of a strechy wrap is invaluable with a newborn baby, then there is the practical aspect that once worn, it can insert and remove the baby without having to undo the ligature band, which is unthinkable for a rigid band! At the same time, it is easier to use from the latter.
But an elastic band, as strong and solid, will never be able to adequately support the weight of a child who grows ... Already to the 6-7 kg the fabric starts to drop, losing elasticity, let alone to the 10-15 kg!
A rigid band , however, gives the best on the long term, just when the infant is heavy ... And then is not so true that it is harder to use than the elastic band, it is just a bit 'of practice and exercise , and above all so much motivation! Moreover, in a rigid band can bring the baby in almost every way: front, side, back in a backpack, the Tibetan ... Positions are ENDLESS!
Ideally they can have both, and thank God, but also the sharing of tutorials on the web, with the self that is possible!
you "revealed" in a nutshell a couple of tips to be able to pack yourself a baby carrier band worthy of all respect!
FOR LONG ELASTIC BAND:
The fabric with which I find very good is the jersey, the problem is to find the right one: should not be too light not too heavy in his hand must have a certain "thickness".
I hope these tips will return profits from real life! Let me know if you like, how did you find to make themselves your band, if you have found the measures and suggestions for the selection of fabrics to suit your needs ...
Every mother has her "recipe" on staff, and it's nice to share ...
as you see it?
Good bring everyone!
